The Flattening

 

The Flattening is an artwork that speaks into the complexities experienced by artists who are frustrated with time and pressure to create during short residencies. The artwork expands on themes such as reflection, time, vulnerability, precision and chaos that are experienced during this process.

 

This work was small, exposed to its surroundings, and eventually shaped by them over the course of the night. A slow trampling occurred over the course of the night.
